Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
